Barbora also offers therapy in Czech and Slovak languages as well as English.
A note from Barbora:
I come from the Czech Republic and my professional and personal journey went through New Zealand to Canada. I have been very fortunate to practice mental health on three different continents. Through my journey, I have learned an incomparable multicultural perspective and to appreciate and respect each client’s unique story. I enjoy my life in Alberta with my husband and my children and on the weekends we especially like hiking, camping, skiing and any other outdoor activities. I am always impressed by the immense majesty of the Canadian Rockies, where I regain my life peace and balance. I also enjoy reading paper books and travelling.
I have been passionately providing counselling to individuals, couples, children and families and supporting them in their journey to reach their full potential in the past 20 years. I have been helping clients who are facing depression and anxiety as a result of life challenges such as relationship issues, divorce and separation, past traumas, parenting issues, health concerns etc.
I hold a Master degree in Counselling Psychology and I am registered with College of Alberta Psychologists. I have a psychodynamic background and in my practice, I use Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Techniques and Solution-focused approach. I also work from trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective.
Things are often not what they appear, and our past experiences might have negative effects on our self-esteem and self-image, how we perceive things and the way we relate to others. Those past experiences often prevent us from moving forward in life and keep us stuck. I can help you process challenging present and past experiences and accompany you on the journey to achieve better mental health, healthier relationships, and meaningful lives.

Adults, Teens, & Couples.
I am a Registered Social Worker, an excellent listener and a caring and compassionate mental health therapist with eight years of experience. I work from a client-centered, attachment, and trauma-informed lens to help clients navigate moments in life where they feel ill-equipped or overwhelmed, when they notice negative patterns repeating again and again, when they are struggling with conflict or communication in relationships, or when they feel like they cannot connect to themselves or achieve what they want to.
I am a skilled trauma therapist, helping clients to process recent or historical traumas and their impact on present-day life. I have a special interest in helping clients heal and move past the early-life experiences, losses throughout life, or occupational stressors that have unwittingly shaped their day-to-day life and relationships with family, friends and partners. I am a skilled trauma therapist, working to help clients process historical and recent traumas. I work with clients to help them understand their attachment and emotional needs throughout the lifespan, to be able to heal from the past and shape a future that feels healthy and bright.

Adults, Teens, Couples
Katie strives to provide a judgement-free and accepting environment for adult, couples, and teen clients. She works in collaboration with her clients to help heal the root causes of stress and unhappiness. Her specialty areas include: addiction, trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship, and personal growth.
A Note from Katie:
I began my career in mental health in 2010 working with young women at a juvenile detention center; from there my passion for helping and connecting with others was solidified.
I have experience working with people who are facing addiction, eating disorders, trauma, as well as other stressors from everyday life. Although the journey to healing will look differently for each individual, I am a firm believer in healing the root cause of unhappiness and pain rather than simply managing the symptoms.
I do not believe that people are defined by their behaviours. We are complex beings with different facets that make us whole. We also play diverse roles: sometimes, these roles and the behaviours that accompany them help us achieve what we want in life, and sometimes they hinder us from reaching our full potential.
I am passionate about working with my clients to better understand the needs their behaviours are attempting to fulfill, whether successfully or unsuccessfully, without shame or judgement.

M.Ed., Prov. Registered Psychologist
Adults, Teens, Couples, Assessments.
I believe that the therapy process should feel safe, supportive, non-judgmental, and be customized to address the specific concerns, needs, and goals of each individual. I care deeply about clients’ unique stories when considering how to best help them and believe in the power of personalized care. Through genuine curiosity and listening, I work collaboratively with my clients towards real healing and growth. Whether a person is facing challenges, seeking personal growth, or striving for greater self-understanding, I am here to help.
As an immigrant, I empathize with missing family back home, learning a new language, and feeling alone in a new place. Therapy becomes much more effective when a client feels understood and I believe improvements are more likely if people’s backgrounds and stories are valued. Ultimately, we all want to live a peaceful and meaningful life; I wish to help clients discover their inner potential, cultivate resilience, build greater self-awareness, and pave the way towards personal growth and fulfillment.

Individual and Couples therapist. Dan is a warm, caring therapist whom works with mental health, relationships, stress and growth. He deeply cares for and works hard to help his clients heal, grow, and connect in life.**
A note from Dan:
I have been blessed to have been able to work as a counsellor/therapist since 2005 in various professional settings including health care/government, private firms, non-profit, schools and my own private practice.
For over 15+ years I’ve worked to help people achieve their goals of health and happiness and would love to connect with you also to help you achieve your goals and find some peace. I strongly believe in practicing from the values that I see create healing in my clients. These include truly looking at what matters in people’s lives; understanding that all people want to be happy and at peace deep down; that no-one gets through this life unscathed and hurt occurs in many different ways; and understanding that people respond to these injuries as best they can but often these ways become cemented later in life, hurting them again.
I, like all of us, strive to find happiness and health in my life as best I can. For me this means a balance of work, time with family, pursuing my interests, and growing as a person.
My passions are time spent with my family, being outdoors, snowboarding, hiking, traveling, playing sports, time with friends, walks, and going to movies when I can. While my office is located in Calgary, I live in Cochrane and am the proud father of two wonderful children. I strive to grow and learn continuously in my work, as I believe it makes me a better person, partner, and father. This is one of the reasons I am so passionate about couples and individual growth.
I am particularly experienced with mental health concerns (including depression and anxiety), family of origin issues, and self-growth. I am passionate about couples counselling and trauma and have extensive training in these areas as well. Most of my work has occurred in the Calgary area of Alberta but I have also worked in Cochrane, Canmore, Athabasca and Ponoka, Alberta in various counselling and psychological roles over the years. I pride myself on having a well-rounded and in-depth skill set that allows me to understand, guide and support my clientele.

I work with adults, teens and older adults.
I provide a warm, caring, and receptive space where I can support you to feel and think in ways that are more helpful. I try to work with my clients in a collaborative way, attuned to your needs, so that you feel heard, understood, and respected. For me, this is fundamental to developing trust, which is essential for healing. I have worked as a Counselling Psychologist for 10 years. My areas of expertise include mild to severe anxiety, depression, grief and loss, interpersonal issues (including relationship struggles), complex trauma, bipolar, schizophrenia, and personality disorders—as well as issues related to physical health and learning difficulties. I have worked with diverse populations in the community, in hospitals, and in prisons. My formal training includes Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Counselling at the doctorate level, and accredited training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma-informed approaches. I am originally from BC, and I completed my bachelor’s degree in psychology in Canada. To explore my European roots and understand myself better away from my familiar environment, I moved to the UK, where I lived for 15 years, gaining a doctorate in counselling psychology and working extensively. I have now settled in Calgary, where I have family nearby. I am proud that Canada is my home, and I am happy to share my country with my son, who was born abroad. I underwent therapy myself as part of my postgraduate training. The experience of therapy is different for everybody, but for me, personally, I admit I found it uncomfortable to expose my vulnerabilities to the therapist. However, the process helped me to heal and grow as well as become more attune and highly empathic which is essential when working with other people’s pain and distress Using a client led and compassionate approach, I look forward to working together to heal the parts of you that are struggling while getting to know you as a person.
